Chandler Park Fieldhouse
L.S. Brinker served as the Construction Manager for the Chandler Park Fieldhouse, working alongside of fellow Brinker companies, Brinker Team Construction and City Carpet + Flooring. The 131,000 sq. ft., type IIB indoor sporting and community center is located within the Detroit’s largest inflatable structure, and serves as an event and public assembly center at Chandler Park. This engaging new facility provides Detroit residents with indoor recreation and athletic activities, and year-round field and court sports for all age groups, which also allows the city and outside vendors to create new athletic, recreation and educational programs throughout all seasons for residents and visitors to enjoy.
The Fieldhouse/Dome contains a permanent multi-sports court, full sports field, recreation space, multi-purpose rooms, classroom space, administrative space, and a breakroom, Adjacent to the building is a 200+ space parking lot with two bio-swales for storm-water management serving both the parking lot and the building, and generators capable of powering the facility.
The project included a number of site improvements to enhance the appearance of and interaction with the surrounding park area, including site work, parking, landscaping and the re-routing of a portion of the existing Chandler Park Drive.
