General Position Summary

Brinker Team Construction, a leading commercial drywall contractor, is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join our growing team. The Senior Estimator is responsible for preparing budgets, estimates, bid packages, and conceptual pricing for commercial drywall and interior systems projects. This role works closely with project management teams, field operations, vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors throughout all phases of the course of construction.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in commercial drywall estimating, including but not limited to metal framing, drywall systems, acoustical ceilings, insulation, EIFS, DFH, specialty ceilings, general trades, and interior finish systems. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining accurate and competitive pricing.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead estimating efforts with timely execution of the entire bid and proposal process
  • Conduct detailed analysis of drawings and specifications to determine project scope and requirements
  • Prepare accurate and complete estimates for commercial drywall and interior systems projects
  • Perform quantity takeoffs for drywall, framing, ceilings, insulation, specialty systems, and related scopes
  • Review bid documents thoroughly to identify risks, opportunities, and value engineering options
  • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing proposals
  • Develop labor, material, equipment, and production cost estimates
  • Organize bid schedules and coordinate with internal teams to meet deadlines
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings, walkthroughs, and post-bid interviews as required
  • Assist with conceptual budgeting and preconstruction services during design development
  • Prepare staffing projections and general conditions as needed
  • Maintain historical cost data and contribute to estimating database development
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, architects, vendors, subcontractors, and industry partners
  • Collaborate closely with operations and project management teams during project turnover
  • Identify and recommend value engineering opportunities to maximize project success and profitability

    • Drywall assemblies

    • Insulation systems

    • Doors, Frames, Hardware
    • Specialty ceilings and wall systems
    • General Trades Items
    • Interior finishes
  • Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously
  • Strong understanding of commercial construction drawings and specifications
  • Proficient in quantity takeoff and estimating software
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, EDGE Estimating, and related estimating platforms
  • Strong organizational, analytical, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to identify project risks and develop practical solutions
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced environment

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Union Commercial Carpentry Experience preferred
  • Minimum of 10+ years of estimating and/or preconstruction experience in commercial drywall construction
  • Experience estimating large-scale commercial interior projects over $25m
  • Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards

Reporting
The Senior Estimator derives authority from and performs duties under the guidance of the Executive Vice President of Brinker Team Construction.

Work Environment Job/Conditions
This position may be performed in both office and jobsite environments and requires frequent sitting, computer work, walking, standing, bending, and reaching. Due to computer usage, repetitive hand and wrist motions may occur. The employee must be able to navigate active construction sites safely and comply with all company and jobsite safety regulations.
