Compliance Analyst, L.S. Brinker

General Position Summary
Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Subcontract Compliance Analyst to join our team. This role is crucial in ensuring that all subcontracts are compliant with company policies and industry standards. This position will report to the Controller with indirect reporting to the Director of Compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, compliance, and subcontractor management.
Key Responsibilities
Prequalification:
- Review financial statements to assess subcontractor’s financial health
- Collect and verify surety/bonding and bank reference letters from subcontractors
- Review Experience Modification Rate (EMR) and collect the most current safety manual
- Ensure generic insurance meets company requirements
- Maintain relationships with subcontractors
Insurance Programs:
- Enroll and audit subcontractors in the Subcontractor Default Insurance (SDI) program
- Assist in setting up Owner Controlled Insurance Programs (OCIP) and Contractor Controlled Insurance Programs (CCIP) when required
- Assist with annual insurance renewal
Accounting Compliance:
- Coordinate with project teams to collect, review and track subcontractor insurance certificates
- Ensure bonds are collected and properly documented
- Audit sworn statements and second-tier waivers from subcontractor’s process
- Ensure all executed contracts are properly filed and compliant
- Support accounting staff in daily operations
- Import / export project data between accounting and operations software
- Internal reconciliations and audits as needed
- Assist in Controller and Director of Compliance in documenting and implementing Standard Operation Procedures (SOP’)
Qualifications & Skills
- 0 – 3 years of experience in accounting, compliance, or subcontractor management
- Strong understanding of insurance and bonding requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting GAAP standards
- Knowledge of construction safety techniques, safety standards, materials, methods of installation, material characteristics, and installation requirements
- Working knowledge of Trade Contracts and Owner/CM Contracts
- Computer knowledge and efficiency including Procore, Microsoft Office products, TradeTapp, Sage 300
- Ability to always maintain discretion and confidentiality
- Experience in insurance, risk management, surety brokerage, and construction finance/accounting are a plus
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration
