L.S. Brinker served as the general contractor for the expansion of The Kresge Foundation’s Midtown Detroit office on Woodward Avenue. Following the initial restoration of the 130 year-old historic building by L.S. Brinker and its opening in 2012 with a total of roughly 3,100 sq. ft., The Kresge Foundation Detroit Program’s continued operational growth necessitated a significant expansion in 2019.
The current renovation of the second floor created an additional 7,095 sq. ft. of adjoined workspace and today this modern, sophisticated office includes a library, kitchen, three conference rooms, dedicated work desks, touchdown spaces and private offices all under energy efficient LED lighting fixtures. Nearly 50 original artworks from metro Detroit artists in a variety of formats are showcased throughout the space, further enhancing its visual appeal and demonstrating The Kresge Foundation’s commitment to the local arts community.
