Site Safety Manager, L.S. Brinker

General Position Summary
The Site Safety Manager is responsible for environmental, health and safety awareness and training, safety planning, safety policy, and monitoring of on-site safety practices and proceedings for the L.S. Brinker personnel and projects. Monitoring of job site and office safety includes reporting of environmental and safety inspections, of Brinker trade work, subcontractor work, and general job site conditions. The Site Safety Manager shall work with the Brinker Director of Safety and Brinker onsite supervision in the development of site-specific safety policy including orientation of workers.
Major Duties & Responsibilities
- Have a working knowledge of all federal (OSHA), state, local, Owner and Brinker safety rules and guidelines
- Work with Brinker Director of Safety to Prepare and update Brinker Safety Manual
- Develop and implement onsite safety plans and procedures for trade work
- Assist project team members in the review of construction plans and programs that include safety procedures, logistics, and techniques to be implemented on the project
- Prepare site-specific safety plans
- Work with project team member on safety issues
- Prepare and distribute to appropriate personnel safety review reports for specific assignments
- Provide safety training to Brinker staff and tradesmen
- Keep safety manual up to date with current guidelines and regulations
- Track and record safety incidences and recordable injuries
- Coordinate drug testing requirements for M.U.S.T. safety program
- Maintain relationships and follow up with state OSHA
Job Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of construction safety techniques, safety standards, materials, methods of installation, material characteristics, and installation requirements
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Ability to handle conflict
- Function as the company safety representative with a job site or office environment safety focus
- Computer knowledge and efficiency including Procore and Microsoft Office products
- Good time management and organizational skills
- Ability to read drawings and specifications
- Ability to provide all safety and material data reporting requirements
- Ability to work productively with project team members
- Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality at all times
Education and/or Experience
- Associates Degree in occupational safety & health or equivalent experience
- 5 to 7 years of industry experience
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred
- Certified Safety and Health Manager (CSHM) preferred
- OSHA 30-Hour training
- CPR and First Aid training certificate
- Certified training in safety related topics
Authority
The Site Safety Manager derives his or her authority from and reports to the Director of Safety, with indirect reporting to the Executive Vice Presidents.
Work Environment Job/Conditions
This job may be performed in the office or on the jobsite and requires frequent sitting (often working on a computer), frequent walking, standing, bending, and reaching. Due to computer usage, there may be repetitive motions of the hands and wrists. He/she must be able to navigate the jobsite and is expected to be able to comply with all safety regulations in the office and on the jobsite.
