Becomes first African American member at Ferris State Ceremony
Detroit, Michigan (November 10, 2011) — Larry S. Brinker, Sr., chairman and CEO of Brinker Group was recently inducted into the Michigan Construction Hall of Fame at Ferris State University. He also received the Distinguished Constructor award for his significant achievements in the Michigan construction industry. Brinker has led the Detroit-based company for more than 20 years. The Brinker Group consists of five successful commercial contracting firms, including Brinker Team Construction (interior architectural solutions); L.S. Brinker (general contracting and construction management); Universal Glass & Metals (full-service glass and glazing); City Carpet & Flooring (award-winning flooring solutions); and Edgewood Electric LLC (design, installation and service).
Larry Brinker Jr. Becomes Third 2nd Generation CAM Board Member
Detroit, Michigan (February 9, 2012) — The Construction Association of Michigan recently inducted three new members into its board of directors — Larry Brinker Jr., director of the Brinker Group
; Stephen Hohensil, president of Glasco Corporation; and Donielle Wunderlich, project manager at George W. Auch Company, Inc.
The three newly inducted board members replace three retiring members who have served for the past four years. They are Stephen Auger of Stephen Auger & Associates, Inc.; Jacqueline LaDuke Walters of LaDuke Roofing & Sheet Metal; and James Capo of DeMattia Group who served at CAM’s 2011 chairman.
The 2012 CAM chairman of the board is Frank Nehr Jr., executive vice president of Davis Iron Works, Inc. Elevated to 2012 vice chairmen are: James Brennan of Broadcast Design & Construction and Donald Purdie, Jr. of Detroit Elevator Company. CAM’s new treasurer is Gregory Andrzejewski of PPG Industries.
Other current members of the CAM board include: Kevin French of Poncraft Door Company; Todd Hill of Ventcon, Inc.; Mary Marble of Marble Mechanical LLC, Eric Steck of Amalio Corporation; and Kurt Von Koss of Beaver Tile & Stone.

Larry Brinker, Jr., has assumed responsibility as president of L.S Brinker, Detroit, a general contracting and construction management company, under the umbrella of Brinker Group. Just like the founder, Larry Brinker, Sr., chairman and chief executive officer of Brinker Group, Brinker, Jr. has great work ethics and a keen business acumen that will pay dividends in the future. He has more than 10 years of experience in the construction industry, along with creative strategies that will help catapult L.S. Brinker to greater heights. As a director of business development, Brinker, Jr. has been involved in more than $500 million of constructing projects, specializing in complex logistical demands such as, multi-phased projects and historic renovations.
